Project: Major Refinery Expansion – Asphalt Plants & Pumping Station

1. Client & Facility Overview

  • Facility: High-Capacity Oil Refinery

  • Facility Details: A major industrial refinery with a substantial crude oil processing capacity of approximately 100,000 barrels per day.

2. Project Background & Objectives

As part of a strategic extension to increase the refinery’s production capacity and operational efficiency, this project consists of the execution of:

  • Erection of three (3) new Asphalt Plants.

  • Design and installation of a new, associated Pumping Station to support the new asphalt operations.

The siting of the new plant has been selected to strictly comply with all environmental and safety regulations, including a mandatory safety buffer zone from any residential areas.

3. Scope of Work: Control Valves & Instrumentation

Our defined scope of work for this project is the complete Engineering and Procurement (E&P) for the full instrumentation and control valve package required for the new Asphalt Plants and Pumping Station.

This scope includes, but is not limited to:

A. Engineering

  • Specification & Sizing: Complete engineering calculations for the selection and sizing of all new control valves (e.g., flow, pressure, level) based on process data.

  • Instrument Selection: Specification of all required field instrumentation, including transmitters for pressure, temperature, level, and flow.

  • Data Sheets: Creation of detailed, ISA-compliant instrument data sheets for all new tagged items.

  • Technical Evaluation: Performing technical bid analysis for all procured items to ensure compliance with project specifications.

  • Documentation: Providing all necessary engineering documents, including instrument lists, I/O lists, and hazardous area compliance reports.

B. Procurement

  • Sourcing: Procurement of all specified control valves, transmitters, gauges, and associated instrumentation from approved, world-class vendors.

  • Logistics: Full management of the supply chain, including inspection, expediting, and delivery to the project site.

  • Documentation: Compilation of a complete documentation package, including calibration certificates, material test reports (MTRs), and hazardous area (ATEX/IECEx) certifications.
